Giles Rayner
Contemporary Water Sculptures:
Copper / Bronze / Stainless Steel / Water
ABOUT
Giles Rayner is a British sculptor renowned for his striking water sculptures, crafted in copper, bronze and stainless steel. He began experimenting with metalwork in his father’s workshop before completing a BA Honours in Fine Art Sculpture at Kingston University in 2002, and has since become one of the UK’s leading water sculptors.

ARTISTIC VISION
Giles’ work combines energy and an ethereal beauty through his use of water and metal. Often on a significant scale, his sculptures balance movement with stillness, designed to harmonise timelessly with surrounding architecture and landscape. Inspired by natural forms, his pieces capture the senses with drama or tranquillity, always underscored by elegance.
Process / Technical Innovation
His practice blends traditional craftsmanship with innovative techniques, producing both organic, flowing patterns and precise, technically ambitious designs. Specialising in copper and bronze, Giles creates works that are structurally enduring and visually compelling, designed to stand the test of time in both aesthetic and physical terms.
“The use of moving water empowers each design with real life, achieving sometimes a sense of the dramatic; sometimes the more peaceful.”
RECOGNITION
Initially celebrated in the UK, Giles’s influence is now international, with installations across Europe, the Middle East, the US and Asia. His highly collectable works appear in contexts ranging from historic rural gardens to large-scale public projects. A frequent exhibitor at Chelsea Flower Show, he is sought after by private and institutional clients worldwide.
